Grandsire Capitol1-
Capitol I, is one of the most important producers of top Holsteiner Show Jumping Horses.
The white stallion by Capitano out of Folia (by Maximus x Ramzes AA) was bred by Harm Thormählen from Kollmar, Germany. Capitol descends
from one of the best dam lines in Holstein. Licensed in 1977 in Neumunster, Capitol I began his breeding career in Ostholstein,
later moving on to Dithmarschen. In 1978 the stallion, owned by the Holsteiner Verband, gathered a 82.56 point score in his
stallion performance test in Medingen. A large crop of his offspring became highly successful in sport and breeding. Famous
names like Calato, Campesino, Carolus I and II, Nissan Carthago Z, Cassini, Colino, and Cento defended their sire's honour
in show jumping. In Belgium the Capitol I descendant Canadian River is making headlines, while Indoctro is his most famous
yet in The Netherlands.
When Nimmerdor was performance tested, he clearly excelled at jumping and so began his steady progression onto the world of
International Showjumping. Ridden by Albert Vroom, he successfully competed in many World Cups and International Competitions,
and he was accordingly invited to the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984. Feeling however that the stallion needed to concentrate
upon breeding duties, Wiepke declined the invitation. Wiepke certainly knew what he was doing, for Nimmerdor’s progeny
have since proven themselves many times the world over.
His first ever offspring was a mare called Samantha, Keur Preferant Prestatie, and she is still alive and breeding. Nimmerdor
now of course has a multitude of children including over 50 Approved sons. Ahorn, Daimler, N-Aldato, DBH Heartbreaker, Zadock,
Nandor Fortuna and Coronel are but a small example.
